Octapharma’s country managers periodically collected sales and market data in spreadsheets. Regional managers then validated and forwarded the information to headquarters.
Preparing the data for reporting was time-consuming. Dozens of spreadsheets had to be cleaned and standardised, including currency conversions, number formats and differences in product and country data.
The process made it difficult to prepare consistent reports efficiently.

SplashDev analysed how Octapharma collected, validated and prepared market data for reporting. The goal was to create a more structured process and reduce the manual effort involved in preparing consistent information.
Working closely with Octapharma, SplashDev developed a custom web application that allowed country managers to enter data in a standardised format and enabled regional managers to consolidate information for reporting.

SplashDev developed a custom web-based application from scratch to support structured market data collection and reporting.
Country managers could enter data using standardised categories. The application brought together information across countries, years, products and categories, and generated predefined tables, charts and graphs for internal presentations and KPI reporting.
The tool also addressed reporting scenarios that had been difficult to manage in spreadsheets, including historical data, additional Latin American markets and a second currency (USD), while final reports remained in EUR.

Octapharma gained a web-based tool for collecting market data in a more structured way and preparing standardised reports. The application generated tables, charts and graphs from consolidated data, helping the team prepare reporting information more efficiently and consistently.
Direct communication during implementation and user training helped address questions and minor issues.
Octapharma’s project shows how understanding a reporting process can lead to a purpose-built tool when spreadsheets no longer meet the need.
